Total hip replacement rehabilitation in Standish, Wigan

Support after total hip replacement to help you rebuild strength, walking confidence and independence, in line with your surgical team’s guidance.

Make the next stage of your recovery practical

Getting home after a hip replacement is a milestone, but you may still need support with walking, stairs and everyday movement. At 360 Healthcare Hub, rehabilitation starts with the activities you want to get back to and the advice you have received from hospital.

How we approach it

We review your discharge instructions, current exercise programme and any movement or weight-bearing restrictions. We then assess the movement, strength and confidence relevant to your stage of recovery and agree a manageable plan.

Building on your hospital rehabilitation

Our support can complement your hospital programme or help you continue progressing after routine appointments finish. Keep attending your surgical follow-ups and follow your team’s instructions about walking aids, precautions and return to activity.

Bring your discharge summary and any relevant letters to your first appointment. If you are unsure when private rehabilitation can begin, we can discuss what information is needed on a free advice call.

Goals we can work towards

  • Walking more confidently around your home and outdoors.
  • Building the strength and control needed for getting out of a chair and using stairs.
  • Improving balance and confidence with everyday tasks.
  • Progressing towards suitable gym exercise and the activities you enjoy.

Exercises and progression depend on your operation, current ability and surgical advice. We do not apply the same timetable to everyone.

Progress at a pace that fits your recovery

We review how you manage your exercises and daily activities, then adjust the plan as your capacity changes. Tell us about symptoms that are worsening or tasks that still feel difficult rather than pushing through to meet a deadline.

Recovery can take several months and varies between people. See the NHS hip replacement recovery guidance. New or concerning symptoms after surgery need advice from your surgical team, rather than waiting for a routine rehab visit.
